Privacy policy

Effective August 20, 2026

LENS Quarterly is published by Twenty-Two Five Media LLC (“LENS,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect on lensquarterly.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. This site is intended for residents of the United States.

Information you give us

When you request a sample, you give us your name, business and city, email address, cell phone number, mailing address, and, if you choose, the names of people you have in mind as recipients. We use this to send you the digital edition, to follow up by phone, text, or email, and, for selected requests, to mail a printed issue. If you provide names or addresses of other people, you confirm that you have the right to share that information with us.

If you become a subscriber, we collect what we need to produce and deliver your publication: your cover personalization details, your recipient list, and your billing information. Recipient names and addresses are used only to deliver LENS on your behalf. Your subscription itself is governed by your customer agreement with us, not by this policy.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store full credit card numbers or bank account numbers on our systems. Stripe handles that information under its own privacy policy and security standards.

Text messages

If you give us your cell phone number, we may contact you by text about your request or your subscription. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP, or by emailing us. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or your consent to receive text messages with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the time of your visit. We also use analytics and email marketing tools that may set cookies to understand how the site is used and to recognize you when you return. Embedded videos are served by YouTube, and the digital edition viewer may set cookies needed for it to function. We may use advertising or social media pixels to measure the performance of our marketing. These services have their own privacy policies.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sharing of your information for targeted advertising.

How we use information

  • To respond to your sample request and follow up with you.
  • To produce, personalize, and deliver LENS to you and your recipients.
  • To run, secure, and improve the website.
  • To send you occasional updates about LENS. You can opt out at any time by replying to any email, using the unsubscribe link, or emailing us.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information or your recipients’ information. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers who help us run the business, and they may use it only to do that work for us. Those providers fall into a few categories: website hosting, analytics, email and customer relationship management, payment processing, printing, and mailing. We never use a recipient’s address for anything other than delivering the publication their sender chose to give them.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our people, or the safety of others.

Keeping and protecting information

We keep sample request information for as long as we are in conversation with you and for a reasonable period after. Subscriber and recipient information is kept for the life of the subscription and for as long as we need it for our business and tax records. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, and we limit access to people who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and your rights

You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop contacting you. Email and we will respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Depending on where you live, you may have these rights under state law, including in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Virginia. We extend them to everyone regardless of state. To be clear about the language those laws use: we do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising.

If you received LENS as a gift and would prefer not to receive future issues, tell us and we will remove you from the sender’s list. If you want to know how we came to have your address, it was provided by the person who chose to send you the publication, and we will confirm who that was on request.

Links to other sites

Our site links to other websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Children

LENS is intended for adults and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will let you know by email or by posting a notice on the site.
